Course:TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) - (EFAW) Course(show details)
This qualification is recognised by UCAS, which means you can claim 8 tariff points for successfully completing this training and that will contribute to your UCAS application if you are applying for a course with one of Britain’s universities from September 2023.
This regulated qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within the industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982 and subsequent changes including the latest updates.
The recommended course duration is 1 day and the topics covered include the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.
The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks should be for a minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day as a classroom course. In May 2016 the HSE and Awarding Organisations announced that computer-based blended training is now allowed for all workplace first aid courses.
You now have the option to complete your Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended course, with over 2 hours of online training followed by 4 hours in the classroom. Our blended training allows you to learn the theory at your pace, one-to-one with your instructor at a time that suits you.
This blended EFAW course meets all of the requirements under the HSE and Awarding Organisations and is available as a ProTrainings or Regulated Qualification.
Each learner who completes this course will be awarded UCAS points that will contribute to their progression into higher education. UCAS tariff points translate qualifications and grades into a numerical value which is then used by higher education course providers to assess whether learners have met their entry requirements. While universities will have their own entry requirements, this new points system gives learners the opportunity to generate more UCAS points to support their progression into university.
All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, detailing their achievement. The HSE dictate, that to be valid in the workplace, learners must retake the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before the expiry of 3 years from the date that the original qualification was achieved. The HSE state that the full Emergency First Aid at Work qualification must be taken again to be valid in the workplace. Please contact ProTrainings for further information.
All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021 as per the HSE requirements.
The HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course and our online course meets this requirement.
Please be advised that the classroom course has a minimum age requirement of 14.
