The ProTrainings Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (EFAW) is ideal for businesses with a relatively low number of employees on-site, especially in low-risk environments. This qualification covers all the core competencies outlined by the HSE, making it an acceptable workplace first aid certification. Completing this course qualifies you to be an appointed first aider in the workplace. It meets HSE workplace first aid requirements and aligns with the UK Resuscitation Council 2021 guidelines.
The SIA accepts this training certificate for those seeking employment in the door supervision and security guard sectors. All our first aid courses fully comply with the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021 as required by the HSE. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are fully recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications. This course requires a minimum of 6 contact hours, conducted over at least 1 day, and the certificate is valid for 3 years.
As of May 2016, the HSE and Awarding Organisations allow computer-based blended training for all workplace first aid courses. ProTrainings now offers the option to complete your Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended course, which includes 3 hours of online training followed by 3 hours in the classroom. Our blended training allows you to learn the theory at your own pace, with one-on-one instruction at a time that suits you. The blended EFAW course meets all HSE and Awarding Organisation requirements and is available as either a ProTrainings or Regulated Qualification.
To renew, you need to attend another EFAW 6-hour course or complete the blended course online and in the classroom. This qualification is recognised in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, as well as in many other countries. The HSE strongly recommends that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course, and our online course meets this requirement.
Please note that learners taking a ProTrainings course have the option to choose a regulated qualification. Also, be advised that the classroom course has a minimum age requirement of 14.
