A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Early Years is a person who has been appointed to take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection matters in a childcare setting or nursery. The DSL is responsible for ensuring that the setting's safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively and that all staff members are aware of their roles and responsibilities in protecting children from harm.
The DSL for Early Years is responsible for safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and other forms of harm, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. They are also responsible for identifying and responding to concerns about a child's welfare, including concerns about their mental health and wellbeing.
This course will cover safeguarding in a detailed and knowledgable way that will introduce case scenarios, promote discussion, cover the legal legislation and what your role and responsibility will be in an early years setting.
