Learn the Essentials of First Aid for Your Workplace and prepare yourself to deal with Workplace Emergencies.
The Emergency First Aid at Work for Schools Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (EFAW) offered by ProTrainings is an excellent option for most businesses that have determined, through risk assessment, that a fully trained first aider is not necessary for their workplace. All training sessions adhere to the new guidelines established by the HSE in October 2017 and meet the standards stipulated by the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations of 1981, including the subsequent modifications made in 2016.
Our first aid courses conform to the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021 in accordance with HSE regulations. Additionally, ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
The course duration must be a minimum of 6 contact hours and take place over at least 1 day, with the resulting certification being valid for 3 years. In May 2016, the HSE and Awarding Organisations announced the authorisation of computer-based blended training for all workplace first aid courses.
ProTrainings provides the opportunity to take the Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended course, comprising 2 hours of online training and 4 hours in the classroom. Our blended training program enables you to study the theory at your own pace, with one-on-one guidance from your instructor at a convenient time. This blended EFAW course fulfils all of the HSE and Awarding Organisations' requirements and is offered as either a ProTrainings or Regulated Qualification.
To renew your certification, you must participate in another EFAW course, which can either be a 6-hour course or a blended course that includes both online and classroom components. The HSE highly recommends that all first aiders complete an annual refresher course, and our online course satisfies this requirement. It is important to note that learners who take a ProTrainings Training Course have the option to choose a regulated qualification. It is also worth noting that the minimum age requirement for the classroom course is 14 years old.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
